MP3 QUESTION

i'm sure this is a repeated question somewhere in the forum, but i can't find it anywhere so here it goes...

2005 530i professional navigation

do i have the capability to burn mp3's on a cd and play it in my regular cd player or is this a separate upgrade that i have to purchase from BMW??

please answer if you anyone knows....it's driving me INSANE!!!!

My Ride: 2013 535i (White with Oyster Interior. Premium Package, Navigation, Technology Pacakge, Park Distance Control, and Rear View Camera)

You are able to play mp3 if you have 2006 530i with CIP 20 or better. Mix result with 2005 530i.

so...the actualy hardware player device for 2005 professional is capable of reading mp3 files it's just a programming issue???

Get your dealer to enable it when the're programming your car, thats the case for many of us. But I think with prof. nav, and a ccc, you would have the prof. radio, so the hardware is there, so yes, its just the programming issue.

let me know how you get on if it is a programming issue... my 2005 prof, will play AAC Audio files, but won't recognise MP3... a real pain!!!

Does your manual say it can play mp3?
As long as your car is under warranty, there won't be a service charge. Although I mentioned before, it has a mix result for 2005 models.

Mine is 04 and can play MP3's.

you know what page in the manual it would say if i had mp3 capability or not??

May I throw in a question here?

Dealer said ipod kit and in-dash CD-MP3 are not compatible. I chose the ipod.
Does this mean I will never be able to play MP3 CD's?
