Mine had in enabled last week. As already said, the CIP upgrade alone will not give you mp3 playback functionality, they need to enable this functionality as per the pdf on page 1.
IIRC, it's Nav that's the major factor, as mp3 playback will only work in the ccc slot & dvd slot, not in the CD-changer.

After a couple of attempts of going to the dealership and armed with the latest MP3 retrofit documentation on the second trip to the dealership, I was able to get my January 2004 build w/ Nav accepting MP3 CDs!
If the dealership says it can't be done, push them harder to do it....it will work!
