Hello, I have a 2006 525xi built in April and I tried playing an MP3 CD to see if I had MP3 capability but it didn't work.
From this I realized that I would need a software update should I decide to get an auxiliary plug/iPod adapter but I believe I can get that free via this service bulletin: http://www.aftermarketbulbsshop.com/v/vspf...P3_Retrofit.pdf I went to BMW and they quoted me 300$ for the auxiliary plug! 150$ for the part and somehow another $150 for the installation. I asked them how much an iPod adapter was and they said $600 without installation. I looked around and I saw that i can get an iPod adapter for only $300 here: http://www.aftermarketbulbsshop.com/BMW-iP...bmw-ipodint.htm So here's my question: What do you guys suggest I do? Should I have the auxiliary installed at BMW, buy an auxiliary retrofit kit online and install it myself (is that easy to do?) or buy the ipod adapter kit online and install it myself? I'm also wondering how easy all these are to do... Thanks in advance for any help! |
