NO!

You don't have BUS RADIO, you have RADIO PRO! Both nav's have the radio pro!!!
That's why it works on your car, since you have the radio PRO, which is required!

If you get standard radio (bus), no MP3.
If you get radio PRO, MP3 works!
If you get BUS NAV, MP3 works, since it comes with radio PRO!
If you get PRO NAV you 'll need the new software what will be released in September when MY switches over to 06.

I changed my order no nav but advanced to raido pro and with newest sw as car will only come in Aug hope

and dealer said yes Mp3 will work, but have ipod and archos also ... but better reception in tunnels was an issue here in Europe

I just came back from Europe where i picked up my 06 530xiT and i was unable to play MP3's. I did not know which software version i had (i do have navigation)

That's correct.
With nav you have to wait for the software release in September to get MP3 playback.
