I know this topic has been done to death, but it's starting to pi$$ me off a little.

My car has just returned from having the CIP upgraded to 20.02 & extended voice control retro-fitted, however the car is still not recognising or playing mp3 discs in the single cd slot. The dealer reckons they ran out of time to test if it worked (load of bull if you ask me, as my disc had been removed from the slot & slung in the glovebox).

On the i-drive display, the ccc is just dulled out even though an mp3 disc is in the slot. The dvd-drive is also dulled out but i guess that's normal.

Now do i need to adjust or set anything up on i-drive or elsewhere? Is their a specific way i need to put together an mp3 disc? If i recall, i just used Windows media player to burn a load of mp3 tracks from my hard-drive onto an enhanced for music CDR. I do have Nero Burn, but only on a different machine to that which i've got all my ipod music saved onto, so do i need to use proper burning software to make an mp3 disc? The dealer did quote that they tried my disc in a different E60 that could play mp3's & it worked fine, however they may not have been telling the truth. I'll try playing this mp3 CD on one of my laptops, just to check the disc is playable.

I thought it may be prudent to start a seperate thread to see if i could get to the bottom of this specific problem, ahead of the car going back, therefore i could inform them what needs to be done (as is often the case with car dealers ).
