Just wondering if the Logic 7 setup supports MP3 playback or not?

Thanks.

Not yet. I've seen one report of someone who got it working. I don't know if it was true or if he/she had Logic-7, or if having logic-7 has any relation to whether mp3 can or will work in the future.

what does the logic 7 package really includes?
i cannot find any information on it online. it's not a very popular option here in hong kong and the dealer just said 'better sound'. well i know i wanted the better sound option so i just went for it without knowing the exact details of the package...

wslam: You won't be sorry. The sound difference is night-and-day from the stock stereo. Logic7 includes upgraded amp(s), upgraded and more speakers, a 6 or 7-band equalizer, a 6-cd changer in the glovebox, and 2 'theater modes' which is supposed to make the car sound like a theater or a concert. I usually keep mine at 'off' because those modes are artificial and detract from the sound quality, imsho.

Yes, MP3 support and Logic-7 are independent, as far as Ive read. Here's a link; I'm sure there's more:

The requirement for mp3 playback is the professional radio. As already said, no need for L7.

BMW will release software update (version 12) in September. With the new software we will be able to watch DVD's on the nav drive and we will be able to play MP3's on the CD drive or the CD changer.

Iceman - What's your source for the DVD drive being able to play DVD movies when v12 is released? I saw a thread about this on RF a couple of days ago but didn't put much believe in it because it was the first thing that I heared about it. Is your source the same or not?

My source is the e60 production manager in munich. His response to the question if there will be a possibility to play DVD's on the nav pro's drive was:"yes, software update (version 12) in september will make that possible".
