Help me people I know the MP3 subject has been beaten beyond all reason but. I have a fully loaded 545i PRO NAV , 6-CD ,Logic 7 ,Sirius,RDS and I can't play .mp3!! why? I've taken it to the dealer specifically for that reason and It still doesn't work after a week being in the shop(other stuff done of course) but I mean it's a real drag for me. I'm used to having my iPod Video hooked up to my HU with video displayed in dash in my other car and mp3 DVD audio/video and all that and all I can listen to in the 545i which cost waaay more is regular cd's !! and it's driving me up the wall anyway according to the door sticker it says produced 11/04. VIN CN63046 . As I said earlier when I took it to the dealer the only change I noticed in iDrive was RDS enabled. So I've tried searching for last 4 hour today and I can't find anything on that particular build date discusing mp3 capability am I wasting my time or what? I tried burning all differnt was using the DVD slot the CD slot the changer and no matter what it still doesn't work.. <_<
P.S. When the hell is iPOD video going to work?? I miss my iPod in my car !!

Your dealer needs to specifically CHOOSE to enable the MP3 part of the software upgrade. Did you make sure the dealer did that?
Documentation says March 2005 and later build cars with NAV is able to play mp3 with s/w upgrade. Yours fall out of the date range but many believe its possible even before March 2005.
P.S. How much are you selling your G35c for? PM me.

Heres a thread that show its possible.

Heres the documentation See Procedure step #3 which shows that the dealer must chose the mp3 option manually.
