Is this something new?

ABC

PS Rudy...EU indicators ARE amber (or clear with amber bulbs)at the rear....

Nick is refering to the addition of side LED on the tail light (so front AND rear) - that is new, although it seems the color is red on the rear side LED from the night shot foto.

Andy is correct -- I'm not referring to the turn signal indicators, I'm referring to the side marker lights that are red in the rear and amber in the front...

Well for starters, the turn signals will be LED - at least in the rear.

Has anybody worked out if the Touring is in the new Deep Sea Blue or is it Monaco blue?

Also I wonder if that blue is the new "deep sea blue(??)". If so, not far off the Mystic.
Looks too "light" to be Monaco.

I think rear side marker lights in the EU can be (must be?) amber. Look at any of the old model Volvo S40 V40 cars. This was one of the few Europe only cars (initially) that had all round side markers and they were always amber.

I think in Europe, at least in the past, the rear side is marked with amber (as you describe) and the front side is marked with a white (clear) color. Usually, these markers are actual reflectors (not light bulbs) so that the car's direction could be identified by other vehicles even if it had no lights on. I'm still a bit confused as to how BMW is marking the rear with reflectors since it looks like they're doing it with bulbs...
