The rear lights are (and have to be) red -- the photo doesn't show them very well...

Sorry to be the odd one out here guys, but I am thoroughly underwhelmed by this facelift, especially external changes.

I was hoping for a bit more
I'm happy it's not. This way my 04 isn't completely outdated yet.

Hi Nick,

Guess you have found what to change to your car during this spring.
Happy new year and hope to see you soon maybe at IAA in Frankfurt in September.

I completely agree, the sum of the changes doesn't add up to the hype. The key point for me is that the updated car is being released sooner rather than later - I was holding off due to the potential impact upon residual values of pre face lift cars......I don't keep cars for more than 12 to 14 months so the residual value versus finance value is very important. The wife was more enthusiastic about the fact that high gloss black trim is now available than any other point!!!!!!!!!!

Since costs are important to you, what about the almost 20% improvement in fuel efficiency?

Reduced fuel bills are a real bonus however for me the biggest issue is the complete unknown that is the residual value of the car 12 months down the track, fuel savings run to ?000's where as residual losses can run to ?0000's . 4 years back I lost over 9K in 11 months on an S4 yet when I pxed the RR Sport I lost only ?400 after 10 months.......the 535d could well be another S4 but with the upfront discount from the dealer and the minimal loss being made on the 330d it should be a fair bet.

Aside from the finance, the biggest thing for me is the updated engine and gearbox.........on the strength of posts to this forum I have added comfort seats to the spec of my order.....

No real major changes. For the average Joe, they could not tell the difference between current e60 and facelift. The only thing that I don't like is the chrome front accent on the airdamn grill. The chrome kidney grill is enough chrome. I just think it should be black or be left alone like the current version.

I actually like our front end design better than the facelift. But yeah, the average buyer won't even notice the difference between the two front ends. Any hi-res shots of the interior?

I like the design of the front bumper, flows better than our stock bumpers. The update doesn't justify ditching our current E60's, but good to know that my near future 550i purchase will be a little bit different than my 530xi.
