My Ride: (E60) 535D M-Sport (DMS)
Default

As some of you know, my 535D M-Sport which i've only had for 3 weeks, went back to the dealers last Tuesday to have the CIP software upgraded (wanted MP3 playback) & a scratch on the back bumper repaired, these should have been sorted before i collected the car, but i was happy enough to take the car back for these fairly minor jobs to be done.

With the car due in, i thought i'd take advantage of the situation & have Extended Voice retro-fitted, after finding out about it on here (cheers all), along with a minor dent/stone chip removed that i'd picked up by accident earlier the week before. I'd also noticed a couple of rattles that i wanted them to investigate.

Firstly due to problems with their/my software & a CCC module needing replacing, it's taken them a week to get the car finished, but it's not really what i would call sorted, as mp3 still does not work. They found that 1 of the rear parcel shelf speakers is distorting, so they've ordered a replacement which should arrive next week, the back bumper scratch is repaired perfectly, but although they've removed the small bonnet dent, they did not paint he stonechip, so it still looks a little unsightly, extended voice it working well, but i'll have to learn to speak differently to the car bird, as she seems to struggle understanding me in all but the very basic commands.

So bottom line is that 1 thing got fully fixed, 1 thing got half fixed (software has been upgraded but it's not allowed mp3 playback as it should have), 1 thing got retro-fitted, 1 new faulty item found which needs replacing & 1 thing that needs completing (paint stone-chip).

Can't say i'm very happy, but i am very pleased to have my car back.

Lets hope that following her next visit in a week or 2, all will be resolved & i'll only then be returning for things such as services & consumables.

I can only say that I hope it works out well for you after the next visit. Good luck, and I'm glad about the good parts of your first visit.

Cheers Rudy,

Not sure if they're aware, but i've printed it off & will be showing them the bulletin when the car goes back in next week.

My guess is they've applied V20.02 & assumed that the CIP upgrade alone would enable mp3 & therefore they've not followed the procedure fully by actually selecting mp3 from the retro-fit list & installing its capability correctly.

That's exactly what I think too -- hope we're right...
