BERM 12-07-2005 07:03 AM

Every time that I listen to the FM or AM radio for few minutes all my stations disappear from the scale. The only station that stays on the scale is the station that I listen to, the only way you can get the stations back on the scale again is to exit from the radio menu and go to the main menu and go back to the radio menu again. Did anybody else experience this before??? :help:

Others are having this problem. I think this problem occurs only after an update to 19.02.03 or something like that, but I am not sure. What CIP version do you have, and did your problem began after an update?

I don't think my software was ever uptaded.

Oops, sorry I couldn't help. Maybe an update would help then, but the version I mentioned, assuming I got the numbers right, also can cause BT problems. I have 19.01.01. It works very well on everything, except that setting the FM stations can be a tad disagreeable sometimes.

My car is going for service this Friday, so maybe I will also tell them to uptade my software. What problems CIP 19.01.01 corrects???

I am not sure; it did not correct anythng for me (i.e., had to have reinstall because of part repacement), well, except the Step seems to shift a bit quicker--which is good. You might want to be sure what the dealer has available, and your dealer very well may refer to what they have incorrectly--e.g., call 19.01.01 19.1.1.

Do you have NAV? maybe its this?? Sounds similiar... but then again you said you dont have CIP 19.

SUBJECT
CCC: Radio Station Preset List Intermittently Empty

MODEL
E90, E91 (3 Series) with SA 609 CCC-Navigation

E60, E61 (5 Series) with SA 609 CCC-Navigation

E63, E64 (6 Series)

All vehicles produced from September 2005, or older vehicles that have been updated with CIP 19.1 or later.

SITUATION
The stored radio station list (presets) is intermittently empty. The radio stations stored are not displayed in the CID (Central Information Display). It is still possible to change the stations using the steering wheel buttons. The audio still functions correctly.

CAUSE
Software error in CIP 19.1 or later.

PROCEDURE
Do not replace any parts.

The station list will be displayed again if the audio source is changed and changed back again (e.g. from FM to CD and back to FM again).

If changing the audio source does not provide a solution, program the complete CCC again using the "software update" path, then carry out a 30 minute battery reset and then perform a complete vehicle encoding.

This service information will be updated once a software solution is available.
