Audi's are beautiful cars and competition is a good thing. The bottom line is this: with my fully optioned BMW 550 Sport the base Audi A8, which is very close to fully loaded, is 9% less.
If you're like me and have no desire to move into that class of car, then the bottom line is that the 550 is what I want. (If I wanted a 7 Series, I could've probably gotten one for less than what my 550 cost!)

I am just talking about looking at the A8. I enjoy my 550 Sport a lot. However the price of it is trending toward the point where it could become a questionable VALUE in relation to the A8 in 2010.

Paul, I was fully aware of CD changer omission and lower L7 price when I re-ordered. I do not miss it with the IPod. BUT the inferior sound quality is unforgivable.
My sales guys quoted me $800 to add the CD changer as an accessory. I decided not to and do not regret the decision.
