Since I got my 19inch Miro's installed, the tire shop just can't seem to correctly balance them. Took the car to BMW, they said the hub ring is too thin, they were able to move the wheel up and down while on the hub, (too much play) so I went back to the tire shop and they put metallic hub rings that are a bit thicker, but still the same issue.

Here's what happens... up to 100Kmh all is ok, at 115kmh the steering wheel starts to shake, at 120 the steering wheel is ok but the entire car is vibrating especially when I accelerate.(this could be due to the rear tires not balanced properly)
This happened to me when my winter tires were out of balance, and when BMW balanced the tires it was perfect!!

Now, those of you who have 245/19/35 fronts and 275/19/30 rear, when is the thickness of your hub ring so the rims fit perfectly without any play? BMW 545i 2004 non sport model.

Thanks in advance

Same thing was going on with my my 20" Miro 111's that I bought off of a member on here. They said that it was the actual tires being "out of round" whatever the hell that means. But they speed balanced them up to 120MPH and somehow got them within spec. But I found it was very odd.

well, then that eliminates a lot of aftermarket rim choices.

I have 20" Miro 111 staggered and I haven't experienced anything like this. I have taken this car up to 100mph/160kph several times and I cruise at around 75mph/120kph on the freeway with no issues. I hope I don't have any in the future. My tire guy said that it did take a lot of weights to balance the wheels though.

i used discount tire, and they use the hunter road force balance machines with smart balance, which is to save them on weights. the guy claimed he couldnt turn off smart balance. maybe i should get them balanced elsewhere.

Hi wtlb, I am looking into a staggered set of 20" miro 111 in black, I was wondering what tire sizes are you running, was the offset right or were spacers needed, and how is the ride quality going to the 20's. Appreciate any info you can give.
