BMWs manual I think says you only need to drive about a minimum of 100 miles a month to keep the batt charged...
SO if thats the case how come they dont give you a new Batt and see what it fixes on your car?

...I guess because now I ordered a new car and they don't want to mess with my old car. The "too short" commute of 8 miles a day is a pathetic excuse (the engine is running 20-30 minutes per day). My other cars never had any issues with it. I mean, a car for $65,000 should be able to handle this, or am I missing something here?

mine was acting up recently more than usual,i also have new symptom now:more often than not sound mute occurs along with "anti-trap window deactivated" message that appears only for a split second,however,anti-trap feature is operational when i test it right away, which makes me think it is definately "voltage drop" related.
I am taking my car in next week for reg maintenance(22K miles),check engine/increased emissions message, creaking back seat and clicking/tapping sound from steering column upon unlocking the car.
Will post results.

It's baaaack...
Clearly this issue only happens in colder temperatures. I didn't happen at all last Spring or this past Summer. This morning, it was about 38 degrees (F) and just a mile or so from my home, with the seat and steering wheel heaters on, the radio cut out two or three times during a downshift.
This afternoon, it happend a bunch of times on my way home. Same temperature, same scenario. Mostly on downshifts but I think it happend briefly on an upshift too.
I think the good news is it seems to be happening more frequently so it might be easier to duplicate at the dealership. Something tells me I'm going to be getting a new battery...
