HI All,
I returned to my summer tires this week, but with one caveat: "Minimum recommended PSI inflation."

I got the car back, and there is scarcely any harsh ride difference from the standard Semperit snow tires (as opposed to last fall's rock-hard ride).

Thus, I would recommend that you instruct your dealer to set up your Thumpflats at the "minimum RECOMMENDED pressure." That way, we are within the bounds of warranty, yet we can keep our teeth and everything else from being rattled to death. I haven't measured the PSI, as I don't have a good gauge, but if you are at the dealer, just give them those instructions.

One thing to note -- BMW changed the pressure recommendations sometime around mid-2004, I think.

What pressures are you actually using?

I found the thread on the tire pressure change. I think it happened between MY04 and MY05...

I came in late to that movie, Rudy, so thanks. As I noted above, I don't have a sophisticated gauge, so I simply asked for "lowest RECOMMENDED PSI" and it seems I have gotten a big reprieve from last fall's rockhard ride.

If I get a gauge, I'll let you know.
