I have a quick question, my i-drive told me this morning that I am at the minimum oil level. How much oil do I need to put in to get it back to a more acceptable level?
Assistance will be much appreciated....

You have a dipstick in the 550. Check it first before you do anything. The sensors do not read correctly all the time.
Why they do not put a dipstick in some engines is beyond me.

The i-drive told me to add a quart which I did. Now the level is at maximum and ok.
I could not find the dip stick, were would it be? Typically, isn't on the side of the engine?

For the 550 the dipstick is on the top right on the engine... same location where the 545 dipstick is... the 550 dip stick is black and BMW doenst want you to use it... thinking their iDrive will never fail... where as the 545 its red.
