Yeah I've got the same problem. My 525i I used to get 600+ km each fillup but now I get between 450 and 500 km. Dixon, did you ever figure out what was wrong? I noticed the l/100 km gauge under the tachometer seems to be acting weird also (it goes all the way to the right as the vehicle comes to a stop and once it comes to a full stop it will go back to the left) and not sure if that is affecting the amount of km I get each fillup.
After each fill up it says bout 430-470 miles until empty. Averaging about 23-26 mpg depending on driving habits. Extremely efficient for a V8 IMO

back a yr ago when i first bought my 04 530i, i use to get 650 to 700 km on a full tank regularly all the time, now i only get 550km at most with a full tank even after oil changes, what gives?

also how much are you guys getting per tank?
A couple of things you should try: replace the plugs and have your air flow mass sensor inspected and cleaned. I am still getting 400+ miles per tank, but I've noticed my mileage has gone down by .02 miles per gallon. I will have the above two things done, in the new year.

Are you comparing winter with summer mileage ?

Mine always does at least 10-20 percent less in winter due to all the electrics in use and load on the alternator

Intesive heating, rear screen heater, heated wing mirrors, heated seats, more headlight and wiper use etc, etc all take their toll on fuel consumption. Also you are more likey to use the car for shorter journeys to avoid winter conditions.

When I'm not driving it and my dad gets about three or four fill ups on the meter, it usually reads around the 17 mpg mark. When I reset it and drive around for a week or so, I usually average between 13 and 14. I usually do all city driving, just getting to 70 on a mini-highway for less than a minute and then back down to 35-50 stop and go traffic.

After seeing what you guys get, I feel really bad about having a lead foot. It seems like I'm always driving "spiritedly", even on the icy roads of Chicago where traction control constantly cuts power as I'm flooring it on icy patches just to have fun.

Maybe I'm just an idiot.

Hmm... maybe the winter has something to do with it. I didn't expect it to be 10 to 20% worse though. Seems quite high cause my other cars didn't really notice too much of a difference.
