Might get 04-06 530i
#1
Hey guys, new here to the boards. My dad is planning to dump his e500 as it really is being a headache, and I'm trying to convince him to get an e60 530i (04-06), or even a 545i.
My question is, what are the problems the e60 have? I tried searching but really didn't find anything, I probably didn't know what to search for though. Are there any particular models we should avoid? Also, is there an ///M steering wheel for it? I have one in my e90 and he really likes it a lot.
I really hope someone can help me so I can convince him to get a 5er instead of another benz Thanks for reading!

Hahaha J/K. All cars have their fair share of problems... including BMWs. most of it are software related and are fixed via S/W update. Unlucky ones just have problems after another, theres a few of those... its really the luck of the draw. It's probably a little more reliable and less problematic as Mercs but in general you'll prob see more complaints than a Lexus. Some minor annoyances such as door seal squeeks sun roof noise... all minor.

Keep in mind that the 2004 530i has the older engine which puts out 225 HP. The engine in the 2005-2007 puts out 255 HP.

So the only 225 HP e60 is the 04? All the 05's til the 07 has the same engine as the 330i e90 (255hp)?

Early production E60's, primarily built as 04 and early 05's had limitations regarding MP3 playback and Bluetooth. If the car is a later production 05 or an 06, it will have new engines as well as the updated electronics.
