Anyone have any problems with a metallic rattle behind the rear passenger seat. It sounds like two aluminum bats bumping in to each other or a glass bowl bouncing on a glass plate. Obviously it only happens on uneven and bumpy roads. Any ideas?

Hah, I had this issue. Go into your trunk and lift up the carpet to see the jack and the spare tire tools. They're hitting each other to create that noise. It's stupidly annoying, I put a towel in there so the clanging would stop.

I had a noise, not as bad as that, but still a concern to me. It ended up that the shock in that corner needed to be torqued. Problem solved for me.

I had a similar noise and thought it was coming from back there but turns out it's the metal sunroof deflector bouncing on the glass. Possibly related, my sunroof had been acting up and the dealership is going to swap out the entire sunroof cassette, thankfully covered under CPO warranty.

Thanks everyone for the ideas. It was, in fact, the jack. Thanks Nomis, I was freaked that I would have to either spend a ton to fix the prob or never find the cause.

No prob, I kept thinking it was coming from my wheel for the longest time. Then one day, my friend (who is musically talented) said that it sounded like it was coming from the trunk. So we popped open the trunk, and waddaya know.
Anyway, glad that it worked out.

You know the funny thing on the sunroof noise. It drove me nuts for 6 months, because I thought it was coming from the central console. Then one day I put my hand up through the roof, under the wind deflector, and was able to replicate the noise. Dealership sprayed something on it, and been fine every since. When I read the OP, the sunroof would have been my first guess.
