DIY guys - have you heard about a metal sump for the transmission on E60's with 6HP19 transmissions? One of the Indy's told me ZF actually sells metal sump, so when doing a oil change, you only have to change the filter and the gasket instead of the plastic sump. Is this true?

Land Rover has a steel pan for their 6HP19 transmission, but I guess you already know that from your thread in Bimmerfest forum.

Any ideas guys, if the metal sump is beneficial? It is cheaper to get that from ZF instead of original plastic from BMW. Are there any drawbacks?
