After some feedback regarding my very recent order of a 520d SE I have been advised to spec. the Media pack to help with resale value. The additional cost to me would be around ?1800 (?2365 - discount - 6CD price included in media pack). I'm hoping that, even on a 520d, after 3 years it should be worth at least ?1000 more than without the media pack, so the true cost to me would be ?800. This is around the cost of upgrading to 18" wheels which I'm told would help sell the car but add little or nothing to its value. I wouldn't use the Sat Nav very often, but the voice option included sounds cool! Then again 18's look better than 17's! Having both isn't an option as the additional real cost to me could be ?1600+.
Please vote and comment - especially on the resale values. I've read about ?3500 gain/loss comments regarding the media pack on a few months old 535d, but obviously a 3 year old 520d SE is a little different!
My full spec. can be commented on here - http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=23835

IMO you will not get the cost of the media pack back in resale value.
Bluetooth phone option is good but pricey at ?500+, you can get Tom Tom sat nav for ?300 and take it with you.
Save your cash.

At least you can keep one of these and fit it to your next car.

I would say go for the Media Package, you will get a grand back I reckon.
You could always add some 18" sport alloys after 12 months, even replicas for ?600 when you need new tyres would be a good upgrade and make the car feel fresh again, you can't retrofit the Media package easily.
