Hi Merv,
Hope you're well.

I'm thinking maybe getting another (E60) later on down the line - the problem as it's a near enough a brand new car, I'm getting stung pretty badly from a trade-in value perspective.

Do you think ?38,000 is a reasonable figure as a private sale? I'm really worried about getting an unscrupulous buyer - there's so many horror stories you hear. Considering it's only 4.5k miles with a maintenance pack which makes it pretty hassle free for 5 years.

I'll see what the company say -they've got a E90 320d and 2005 Golf GTI already available and they're kind of pushing me to take either of these. It'll be a big change.

I'll keep you posted. Thanks again.

Grafiker - sorry to say this but i think you are going to struggle selling it for ?38k. ?35k or slightly more unless you get lucky.

That way you can put it towards your company car tax bills every April from now on...

Hi Grafiker,

Yep fine thanks and sorry to hear of your plight.

As the others have stated you're going to struggle to sell for 38K privately. There are plenty in the autotrader at lower prices and BMW have a few on their own used website page. I would guess you paid around 44k for the car so knock the vat off and yes you're looking at 35k. I would keep it and charge mileage to your new employer. Even if you drive it for your new co FOC, for a while, it'll still cost you less than the drop in value and co tax put together I think!

Best of luck in whatever you do.
