Hello all,
Some bad news. I may have to sell my beloved 535d Sport as the company I work for have offered me a company car, Either an E90 320d, a Volswagen GTi and some others I care not to mention.

It's an idea that they have suggested and they are sounding me out. Any figures what I would be looking at if I sell it privately it's only done 4.5k miles and has the full 5 year maintenace pack.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

regards

Hi.

The english "cash for car" scheme isn't an option for you or your company?

Greetings

Need more info to assist you. Is your company currently giving you a car allowance???

Since you have a car you like better than what they are offering and since your car is new, I would just negotiate a car allowance that is in line with the cost they will incur for a company vehicle.

Sorry to hear about this.

I bill my company for the kilometers I drive for buisness.

If you must, go for the 320d, it's not that bad of an car (but not a 535d).

Don't do it  Forget the financial side of things, you only live once. The 320d will be pants compared to the 535d in fact most cars costing 20k more will be too.

Hi Merv,
Hope you're well.

I'm thinking maybe getting another (E60) later on down the line - the problem as it's a near enough a brand new car, I'm getting stung pretty badly from a trade-in value perspective.

Do you think ?38,000 is a reasonable figure as a private sale? I'm really worried about getting an unscrupulous buyer - there's so many horror stories you hear. Considering it's only 4.5k miles with a maintenance pack which makes it pretty hassle free for 5 years.

I'll see what the company say -they've got a E90 320d and 2005 Golf GTI already available and they're kind of pushing me to take either of these. It'll be a big change.

I'll keep you posted. Thanks again.
