Has anyone here heard of any SBs on this being an issue on our cars? My bro just bought an 07 530i and he brought it in for service and after the oil change he heard some clicking??? Apparently the car previously had multiple complaints from the previous owner about some clicking. The SA told him there are issues with some cars having this problem and the ended up replacing it (master cylinder/cylinder head). They say the cost for the part was 5-6K and labor the same for a total bill covered under warranty for about 11K??
Anyone heard of this issue on the e60??? Wasnt sure some parts cost that kinda dough?

Never heard of the issue.
FYI, master cylinder and cylinder heads are two different things. A master cylinder is for the brakes and should not cost $11k to replace. Replacing both cylinder heads on a BMW V8 might. I recall the E39 M5 head replacement was quite pricey.
However, for ticking noises, that is more likely just lifters. You shouldn't need to replace the head for those. You'd have to get into the valve covers and do lots of work so it wouldn't be cheap. My guess is $2k for a side and $3k for both sides.
