My Ride: 2005 525i Titanium Silver Metalic and 2003 325xi Jet Black with the Premium Package in both cars.
I think my dealer told me about $200 bucks, which I thought was a little steep

As I recall the story, the initial price quoted was more like $135-$150, but then I gave them the sob story about losing the key when home flooded during Katrina and they gave me a "deal", hence the $100...

How much does it cost to get a new key made at the dealer? I was looking for some keys on ebay and saw them for around $20-30. Can the dealer replace just the key (metal part) and have it cut to fit my car? Any suggestions?

Yes, the valet keys are cheaper than the full/regular key. Also had to replace the valet key for my wife's X5 after the storm and it was right around that $65 level...
