Yes...2006. These are at the BMW financial auction in Dallas Texas. The price is going to be around 26k -28 realistically. I will gladly tell you all exactly what I end up paying for it on Thursday. So far he is seeing a lot of 545's on the list but no 550s. I really want to pull the trigger so if there are no 550's to be had I may go ahead with a low mile 545.

Hey man,

Great to hear that you're coming on board! Before you make the decision, though, take a look at this thread (don't brush it off at once - it's a good read). Not to be a snob, I think all of us should start seriously giving it a thought..

Cheers,

If you can get a 550i at that price and not have to turn around and stick 3 to 5k into it right away go with the 550i. The extra warranty on the car can be priceless. Either way I'd go and buy an extended warranty also. If you got a good rapport with the BMW dealership in your area you may even want to call in the VIN # and have them check the service history on it and make sure it wasn't a shop whore.

P.S.: If you like the lower stance and wider tires that would be the Sport Package. Otherwise many members on here have put different suspension on non-sport bimmers and the bigger rims.

Thanks. No matter what I buy I can get a 4 year unlimited warranty at cost for 1100.00 so hopefully that covers me if I need it.

I most likely will go ahead and lower the ride either way and run 20"s staggered for the look I want to achieve.

You must be excited to see what they have waiting for you to look at! I know I would be. I love a good deal. I look at the website for the place I bought my car just to browse each day. I would be like a kid in a candy store at a BMW auction!

Remember to take your camera and post pictures of the cars that you looked at and, of course, the one you come home with!

Good luck and remember that once you make the decision, don't look back!

Huh? $1100 for 4-years and unlimited?? Doesn't sound right, be sure of what the limitations on "unlimited" really are. I'd be interested in looking into that warranty, who has offered it?
