Is the windshield BMW original ? If so it should have a black BMW logo on the nearside. It could have been replaced following damage with a poorly fitted third-party non OEM windshield which is creating the creak
are you certain it is the windshield because sometimes the door pillar seal can make a creaking noise, which sounds like it's coming from the windshield. Your comment that it goes away in summer would fit wth a door-rubber. When they get wet they can creak like mad and need drying and conditioning to solve the creaking.
