I didn't move my new 2004 530i from my garage due to a problem with the title for 11 days and found a 8 inch diameter oil spill under it. Dip stick shows oil is spot on.

What is this thing leaking? Rear oil pan gasket? Or maybe it's not tightened down correctly?

Researched that oil gaskets are not covered under the extended CPO warranty but a complaint to BMW NA got it covered.

An engine oil service was done Oct 18th. Help! The fluid matches the engine oil.

Likely transmission fluid leak.

Checking on a white napkin the oil on the garage floor matches the dipstick. No red tint. What is that black box? I checked the front oil pan and drain plug and it's clean. Main seal looks great too.

not all at fluids are red, some are honey motor oil colored.

The fluid on the floor and on the dipstick are the same color-honey motor oil colored.

Not red like transmission fluid.

You assume all transmission fluid are red colored. That's wrong.

That black box is transmission fluid pan.

Thank you, I had no idea! I thought it was always red.

Anyone have this happen to them? Is it covered by the warranty?

Can this pan rattle loose?
