M5 shift knob and steering wheel

I have sourced an M5 illuminated shift knob for my 535i 6 speed. Has anyone done this mod? Is there a connector in the console to connect the illumination connector, or will I have to splice?

Yes you will have to splice into the wiring next to the idrive menu button for illumination,here's what mine look's like.

Awesome,any idea which colored wire to use? That looks great, I think it's gonna be my first mod!

u can splice to the cigarette lighting so it will always illuminate when the car is on.
