M Lip Spoiler included in 550i Sport Package?
#1
Page 12 of the US brochure has a picture of the rear of the 550i Sport Package and a caption that reads, "Aerodynamic package's rear spoiler, bumper treatment, and lower side molding..."
This is the first that I've heard of the Aero Package including the lip spoiler. Can anyone confirm this? Does the M Aero Kit include this too? I thought it was just the bumpers and side skirts...

Keep in mind that the lip spoiler is not very expensive. The retail price is $230 plus installation but I'm sure guys on this forum like Quad M can get it less expensive, and then you have a place put it on for you (it goes on with adhesive tape).

Good point--just would've been a pleasant surprise if it were included...
Also, it was included on the 2 pages in the US brochure detailing the new 550i Sport Package.
It detailed the package with front and rear photos of a Carbon Black 550i with Sport Package, pic of the 172M wheels, sport steering wheel, and multi-contour seats. The rear photo of the car showed the lip spoiler and the caption mentioned it as part of the Aerodynamic Package included with the Sport Package.
Check out the caption on the bottom of Page 12. Thoughts?

Also, if you compare that rear photo with the one on bmwusa.com, you'll notice that the exhaust tips are also different.
Which is more reliable, the press release photos or the brochure? Any insight is most appreciated.

I'd bet you get that spoiler!

Nice!
Exactly--on the website, there's clearly no spoiler. I'm guessing they decided to add the spoiler as part of the package and the "differentiated" exhaust tips simply means the chrome tips we see in the brochure.
It's weird--in the grand scheme of things, an extra $250-300 is not going to be a huge amount to spend. BUT, getting something you didn't expect is always a good feeling.

Also--is that an M5 spoiler or some kind of a raised wing type spoiler like the one on the e92 335 coupe--it's raised off of the trunklid.

This is the spoiler to which I was referring, which is OEM option on the 335 coupe.
