hi everyone.
i have had a engine oil change and oil filter change done from National Tires (UK) whom advertise and oil change for about £40.00, inclusive of labour and parts on my 520d msport LCI 2007
The oil they used was Castrol Edge 5W-30, 6litres(recommend by some BMW dealers), and used a Fram Oil filter.
I also watched the guy to they change and it seemed very simply.
BUT upon driving out of the garage i got "warning, oil pressure low. Please stop" or something like that on the i-drive.
the chap at the garage said it should turn of after a few days or so, but im a little worried now.
Will this just turn of? i didnt get this warning prior to oil change, so why now?
regards, one very worried BMW driver!!!

Step 1: Check your iDrive oil level - IF the mechanic says it will turn off in a few days he's an IDIOT!
Maybe he didn't use the requyired amount of oil OR disturbed a sensor somewhere.
The only thing that will go away by ignoring a "LOW OIL PRESSURE" warning is your engine!

Step 2. Get to a QUALIFIED BMW MECHANIC ASAP!

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!
had a call of national tires about a 2 hours ago, went down, they checked the oil filter and the nipple on the oil filter was broken. the found the broken piece in the empty oil filter box!
replaced with a new oil filter problem has gone.
got me really worried for a moment.
conclusion
match all replacement/new parts, in respect of dimensions, with old parts. and ask mechanic "politely" to do so, even he or she may feel insulted.
thanks all
