What does this mean?

Had a scheduled maintenance where front brake pads/rotors were changed, brake fluid flushed, wipers replaced, scope (asked and they said they just run a software check for bugs, updates etc) and then as I was under the scheduled maintence for an oil change they only performed a 'low mileage oil change/maintenance'....

just a fancy name for 'adding some new oil' ?!

An oil change is an oil change is an oil change.

"Low mileage" just means enough time has passed (1 year) since your last one.

well, I can live with that .... time passing was noted but tech indicated the oil change due data on the car would not be reset and regularly scheduled oil change would occur as expected.

As BMW does not provide service prior to or extra to scheduled maintenance, I wondered if they'd have done something else than an oil/filter change if they were expecting the car back for an oil change in less than the standard period...

was just curious, not concerned anyway..thx for your reply.

I had the same thing. Then a couple of months later, the i-Drive said I needed one as the scheduled number got closer, so they changed it again.

The dealer/mechanic did you a favor by not resetting the oil change data.

It's common to have things done within a "window" before its actually due. I recently had my oil change done and the dealer went ahead and flushed the brake system even though it wasn't due for another 2 months.
