Default Low Coolant Warning: Twice in a week!!

Hello, My vehicle reached 138,400 miles today, I encountered Low Coolant warning a few days ago. I added some coolant and things were going well, until today, when the Low Coolant warning re-appeared this morning! This bothered me and I took the vehicle into my Indy mechanic.

For the last few days, I have been also noticing a little vibration/ hesitation when stepping on the accelerator initially. It gets normal as I speed up; only happens at the initial move, after turning and starting from a complete stop at a signal.

Mechanic lifted the car, but didn't notice any visible coolant leaks. He said he will have to dig deeper to look for any coolant leaks, but it might turn out to be something expensive like the Valve Cover Gasket or Heater Core !?!)

No coolant smell, nor throwing any codes; just the Low Coolant warning. Please shed some of your expertise on this. Thank you!

He only did a visual look versus a pressure test on the system. That would have only took him 5 mins to do and he can see that from top.

I'm sure the mechanic said head gasket instead of valve cover gasket as that has nothing to do with coolant. Mainly these have issues with old reservoir tanks and oil coolers. I would start there to see if there's moisture.

I can't speak on the vibration because it can be many things. How old are the plugs and coils? Smoke test to see if there's a vacuum leak.

Coolant leaks can be tricky because at times they can propagate to the opposite side. If you don't see coolant on the ground, it could be evaporating, and also the undercarriage cover doesn't help matters. Did you look inside of the reservoir tank to verify that the level is actually low?

+1 vacuum leak smoke test.

The spark plugs and coils have been replaced not too long ago. I will check the reservoir tank. I did have to put some coolant in for the marker to pop up. I will recheck the coolant level.

I did notice white smoke coming out of the tailpipe, but it was a cold, cloudy day.

UPDATE: I let the leak get worse to figure out the location. Turns out 1 of the hoses going to the Turbo is leaking the coolant. The mechanic let me know that there are 3 hoses going in and another 3 coming out of the turbo, and ideally we should replace all 6 of the hoses. He also mentioned that the location makes it a complex job and will be labor expensive!

Do you think anything else should be replaced in that area while those hoses are replaced to save any future labor cost?
