Default Low Beam Light Out

Hey all,

So the other day I got a message on the I drive that there was an issue with my low beam bulb. I got out and it was a pinkish colour.

I'm wondering what type of bulb I need ? I have xenon low beams and im wondering what a fairly priced bulb would be.

Thanks.

Enter the last 7 digits of your VIN here: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select Drill down to lighting to check which is applicable. Likely D2S HID lamp. Pink means it's dying for sure. I typically replace both at the same time, and keep the one that was working as a spare.

You can get a Philips D2S on amazon.ca for $67.

Ah yes! The OEM website is amazing. I was just missing the part about the last 7 of the VIN.

I see I need a d2s bulb, thanks for the help!

If your car is a 2007, then you definitely need a D1S. Every E60 from 09/2005 came with a D1S.

Hmm, that's not what the real OEM website says.

Now that I look at the OEM website again, it's showing both d2s and d1s....waahhh.

Which one is it ?!?!

Thanks for the reply Rvn10. After more research, I ordered the DS1.
They should be here this Saturday.

Does your car have adaptive headlights? Look on the ring from the exterior of the lens. My 12/07 build lamp says BMW DYNAMIC and uses D1.

I'm not by my car however I know mine don't look like the pic. Mine are pre-lci but when I turn the car on, I see them moving like they are waking up.

Actually, I might be wrong about 09/2005, could be 03/2005, but if your is a 2007 built car, then you need a D1S, unless someone had the factory headlights replaced with the older ones...
