Today is exactly one week since I picked up my brand new 2007 550i; wife complaining that I'm beginning to sound like the idiot who does the Mercedes commercials. My other problem is this sh_t eating grin that has been stuck on face. All kidding aside, this car is awesome, I just cannot not believe how much more refined the 550i is over my 545i. The ride is smooter, but not cushy and I'm not missing active steering at all. Used Nav for the first time and thought it worked ok, but voice command for the phone is taking some getting used too. It appears the car is having some difficulty understanding me will it improve or should I get used to repeating myself? The new sport seats are so good that I have been looking for reasons to hit the road, 500 miles in the last 3 days.

No matter what car Iv'e owned in my life, theirs always a car that I pass on the road and think about owning, except now, this car is everything I could want in an automobile.

How can they improve this model???

Congrats for the new car!

BMW develops their car all the time, so even a better car will come,
at least after the facelift in Sept. '07.

"I just cannot not believe how much more refined the 550i is over my 545i"

This is surely true, but also remember that your old car was a used car and
now you have a brand new!

I love my 550i too. I really like the car and it has so many great feartures. I cannot imagine the next model of the 5 being better but I am sure it will be and I will purchase one when it has been out for three years. I don't like first years because they normally have issues and I don't want any. Until then I will be purchasing a 7 series for my wife.

Enjoy your new ride I have had mine sinc eht e9th of June and I still cannot get that silly grine off my face!

Congrats!!! I bet you like the Silver Grey color better too.

I love my E60 and really don't think of driving anything else, except a Ferrari 599 or a Maserati Quattroporte. In driving a couple old loaners, the 06 models do feel more refined with great craftsmanship throughout. Running great with 4K.

BMW could make the car alittle faster, say mid 4s in the 0-60.

They do make the car faster. It's called an M5.

Yes they do but ar what point do you pass sanity. I must say I had fun today smoking a 525i it had a sports package but that doesn't matter too much what matters is the horseys. Enjoy your new 550 I know I love mine and so does my Texaco!

Well, it's funny, but that 'sanity point' keeps moving each time you get a faster car! Basically, if you love to drive, then no matter what you drive, you always want the car to be 'a little faster".

I believe I've had my 550 for 60 days; 2 waxes, 7 washes and miles of fun. Only at 1400 miles but loving it, especially manual transmission. I really feel this car and am always glancing at it after I leave it parked.

I will admit that my 2002 530i was a more beautiful car, I still seen them now and get miss that cars looks, but it can't compare to the engine and driving I get out of the 550. Its a joy to drive every single day. At least my M Aero kit sets me apart from every other e60 in my town.
