lousy traction in the rain

My Ride: 2006 BMW M5, Silverstone with black extended leather, brushed aluminium trim, Nav Pro, Logic 7, PDC, 35 % tint.
I have goodyear F1 GSD3 and they are great in the rain, no problem with the traction. In fact, I just drove 160 km/hr on the way home today in the rain, including the curves. The only time I have problem with traction is when if I floor it in the wet with DSC off, of hit the throttle hard at the end of a turn, then I can feel the back-end wiggle a little, but this is expected, it is part of the fun (btw, this is done at about 60-80 km/hr, wouldn't think about trying to break the back-end loose at 160 km/hr).

Don't know if I want to see how well my car handles curves in the rain.

Interestingly enough I was out driving on Saturday when it was raining none stop in the Hudson Valley (we must have gotten 7 inches of rain) anyway my car felt absolutely solid in the rain, too solid as a matter of fact. I felt like I was driving the car 75% and the car was in control 25% of the time. To me it seemed that all sorts of electronics was kicking in to wrestle away control from. Dont know if anyone else has experienced this.

My Ride: Arrived 3 June 2005: 2005 545i - Orient Blue, Black interior, Sport, Steptronic, Cold Weather, NAV, Sirius, Logic7, Comfort Seats, Sunshades. What a glorious ride!
As to cornering adhesion in the rain, I can't comment because I do not test things like that. At least, not on a $65,000 vehicle.
Braking, no problems with my Dunlop RFTs, which now have 9,000 miles (and appear to be capable of at least another 9,000 or so). And routine handling is just fine too. Note I have the 545 sport, which has the wide 275s in the rear.
