Well, I love this car ever since I got it but wet weather traction absolutely sucks. Is this normal?? On highways on a rainy day, anywhere above 80mph would be suicidal, it hydroplanes ALOT. Is this normal??? Now that my rear tires are almost bald its even worse obviously. Taking a corner normally would make the car skid. Is this normal??

Do you have Dunlops on? I've heard that Dunlop is not good in the rain.

I think you've answered your own question?
Aquaplaning. Standard feature with bald tyres.

The car is superb even in the rain. I travel frequently in excess of 80Km/h without any problems even when negotiating corners.

Please go and have your tyres changed before something drastic happens. And oh yeah; almost forgot; get BMW to check on your wheel alignment!!!

I think he said 80mph, that's close to 130km/h. 80km/h is not very fast in North America is like local traffic. I travel in excess of 130km/h most of the time when I was in Canada.

What tyre have you. It is suprising because even with my very bad Goddyear NCT5, I must say that aquaplaning above 80 mph is unfrequent by very heavy and (sorry I do not konw the translation in English) trucks tracks in the road.

Oops!! Cornering in excess of 80mph in the rain is madness. Why take this kinda risk?

I think this poster is putting us on. Bald tires on a year old car? And he asks if that might be the cause of hydroplaning? Get real.

I have to say, I never have trouble in the rain. More often than not, the tires are the problem, I don't see how a car, like the e60, could play that big a roll in it
