Lost power to left halo bulb
On my 05 530i I had the infamous wire insulation within the left headlight breakdown allowing the halo wires to short out. In addition I lost the servo motor for the adaptive Headlights in the same light Assy. Long story shortened, rather than attempt to resolve the wiring issue with the headlight assy, as very little insulation remained on any of the wires, I replaced the left headlight Assy with a new unit thanks to some extra help from the folks at FCP.
My problem persists today with the halo within that light. Bulb is good with no power to the socket. Have checked continuity for the Halo socket within the new light assy and ruled that out. No power on the pin out of the connector on the cars wiring harness. All of the other lighting and adaptive headlights work properly.
I read somewhere on a forum and now I can't find it again, that the lighting cpu will power off a individual circuite to a light, if the lighting cpu detects a short circuite 10 consecutive times during the startup pre check. Can anyone confirm this for me?
Unfortunately I only have a BMWhat app for a diagnostic tool in addition to a Fluke volt/ohms meter and Bentely Manuel.. Would like a true remedy before I enguage someone to reprogram this circuit if that is to be the fix.
Up to this point I have been able to do all of my own preventive maintenance and repairs on the car sense the new car warrenty expired in 09.
Thanks for reading and the help...

And every once in a while it would do it again and I would pop it real good and it cane back on everytime for the last 5 yrs I owned the car. I have a 550i now

Wish that was the case for me but no such luck...
By the way I'm just east of you at the beach. Where are you located in Jax?
