anyone know where I can find a list of what year/make/models go with each BMW chassis code?

y not just use http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do

pick your chassis code, then it will give all available models and then all available years.

ooh that's a good solution thanks but i was hoping to have a list. using realoem i still have to find out which ones are US models by hand but that's helpful thanks!

Maybe you can use wikipedia and search for BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, etc.

yup that's what i've been doing so far but the format is just inconsistent between models. i'm trying to write a script that'll scrape the info for me into an excel database.

I think the roundel used to have a quick chart - but no specifiec models - something like E90 = 3 series from X to Y etc.
