Looking to buy my 1st BMW. Any major issues with a 04' 545i?

I an in the market for a new ride and I have always wanted a 5 series. I am certain I am going to do a 2004 545i. Black on black with 73,000 miles.
I am in sales and drive about 20k per year. Is there anything I should be aware of? Major issues? Also, I am working on the deal now but what can j expect to pay for a car like this?
Thanks

There are a couple of 2004 is the classifieds going for $20K to help give you an idea on price...

I have a 2004 530i that I got CPO in August 2007 (for $34K).. I've had good luck and not much issues, currently at 82K miles. I had a leaking windshield wiper reservoir that I got fixed under the $50 extended maintenance deductible, and I had to replace the battery last Summer for $170. Other than that, no problems with the engine or anything major...
The BIGGEST issue is spending money on mods!! Good luck!

My Ride: '04 525i exclusive package, black saphire, beige interior, sun roof, steptronix box, stock standard
get it you will not be disappointed, it's a great ride! however, extend the motorplan or CPO as it is called elsewhere with bmw. my strategy with a bmw is to go easy on mods or none at all and rather use the money to keep it in tip-top condition with bmw dealers - in this way your bmw runs near perfection with guarantees on all original bmw parts!

The great thing is that I have a good freind that is a wholesaler and he can get me a 04' 545i from the california auction for around 15k.
I am not concerned with normal maintanence, I just do not want to replace an engine or tranny EVER!
Thanks for the feedback. What is the most costly fix that is frequent with this year and model?
