I was just reading some information on the E32 750i with the V12 engine that produced 300hp. What a ways we have come to the point now bmw has I6 engines producing 333hp in the old m3 and now 300hp in a I6 TT. Even cadillac has a NA v6 producing 305 hp.
What does that say when even a V12 was not producing as much power as these 6 cylinder cars. Technology is amazing.

So true. But how much torque did that engine produce? 
The M70 was slightly bigger (displacement) than the V8 in the N62 found in the 550i yet the 550i will produce more HP and Torque. However, I'm still a huge fan of I-6 and V-12 engines but that's a topic for another thread.
