Yep, Logic 7 is where it's at! It sounds amazing, definitely worth it!

I'm still curious about the L7 amp....wouldn't it be plug and play? I realize you wouldn't have the DSP options or the extra speakers..just thinking of it as the first step towards an upgrade. Thoughts?

I have the logic 7. The highs and mid's are great. The low's leave something to be desired. Very little low end. I added a sub.

Hi Bruce, if it is not easily swappable, how could someone upgrade hi-fi to Logic7? Than you.

These are the same thing are they not? I have the build sheet for my car and it only says "663-Radio BMW Professional" and "677-Hifi System Professional". The words "Logic7" are nowhere on the sheet.
However, the relevant iDrive screens all say Logic7. Plus the rear seat speakers, centre dash speakers etc as well as the Logic7 amp are all in the car. There has been no retrofit.
By the way I love the sound.

it seems that you got some freebies from BMW.

I have the center speaker on dash, but I don't have Logic7 on iDrive.

...and I don't like the sound. I can only adjust bass and treble - reminding me of my 20 year old tape boombox. BMW really dropped the ball on this thing they call 'hi-fi', oh come on it is laughable.

The amp in the trunk is smaller than the Logic7 one which is much longer (almost double the length).
