Logic 7 coming and going?

I believe I've read elsewhere on the forums that some people with e60's experience troubles with radio reception, specifically static.
I wish I could say my issue was that simple. I've noticed while driving around that it sounds like somebody is turning my treble up and down and the logic 7 fades in and out, as though it's playing out of all the speakers and then occasionally out of only 4 speakers. But when I look at the little reception bars on the bottom of the idrive screen it doesnt change. Perhaps it a fluctuation too small to register on the little display? Living in the mountains signal fluctuates a lot! and I see the bars go up and down but it doesn't necessarily effect the quality of the logic 7 when the bars noticably fluctuate. Perplexing....Most often I notice a change in sound quality when in traffic but not in response to any particular car or radio station. Also, sometimes near buildings or signs or even for no apparent reason. I understand that I'm dealing with FM radio in the mountains but I don't feel like its normal for the sound quality to change from incredible treble and bass from all the speakers to completely flat and from what sounds like 4 speakers. To add to the mystery, I parked my car for a second, left it running, radio and all (which sounded perfect while in the car) and as
soon as I opened my door I heard the speaker up by the front of the window crackle for a split second and go out. All the others were still working. I closed the door and it came back. Thinking it was a physical problem with the speaker/wires, I wiggled the wires that are fed into the door and it crackled and came and went for a few moments but then any further messing with the wires did nothing and it continued working. Driving down the road after that I realized that when the logic 7 fades in and out that is one of the speakers that goes out. Did it go out because I opened my door? To add one final variable to this equation, my right rear speaker on the rear window deck was blown out when I bought the
car (ironic seeing as the man who bought it originally was 65 yrs old)so tired of hearing it buzz and rattle I disconnected it.Even my girlfriend noticed the sound quality coming and going and she cant tell grape juice from wine, or a bmw from a honda, so trust me thats saying something.

At first I thought it was your HD reception going in and out... my HD radio does that all the time but then I see you have a 2004, no HD radio then... so I dunno...

Maybe when the signal drops below a certain point the equalizer/software of the logic 7 system can't properly function?
