Logic 7 is awesome!
Been exploring ways to take full advantage of the Logic 7 system in my 545i, finding out what songs and type of music plays best that effectively utilizes all 13 speakers.
One thing I thought of was, what if I played a movie just for kicks through the iPhone using the iPod interface?
Well I launched the Netflix app, opened "Transformers, Dark of the Moon" and played it though the L7 system...WOW!!!!
The surround effects were awesome, all speakers were going crazy, especially during the beginning part of the movie. you can hear sounds traveling from front to back when a ship flies by. totally rocked!
Not recommended while driving, however if you want to hear a music video made with surround sound, say a concert or something while driving. I think you will be impressed.
Wish it was a discreet 7.1 system, but I will settle for Dolby Surround or whatever the system supports.

I have a simple aux jack on my 2004 and sometimes I play streaming music.
Anything played through iphone will come through speaker system because it's using your system like amplified headphones.

Just a heads up, I got bluejeanscable to make me a custom cable for my AUX input. I got it 4 feet long with a right angle plug on one end. It's their MSA-1 cable...

MSA-1 Cable
It has a great feel to it, and the rear plug is as low profile and solid as you could ever find. Just perfect.
I run it around the passenger side and tuck it in that footwell pocket when not in use. I preset my first stereo button to AUX and almost always use it.
Cheers.

I used to use Aux input to play my IPOD, now I got IPOD Adapter installed, and it sounds awesome. The difference is huge between using IPOD with Aux input and dedicated OEM retrofitted adapter.
