Hi,

Why don't they put together the car location information with user settings?

For example:
When i am managing the car inside my garden i always want PDC off. It is my garden and i know it well! But each time i engage R the damn thing turns on again...

But on the other hand i want it on in the places i don't know.

So i would just press the PDC button for a couple of seconds and it would be off in say 100m2 area!
The preference would be cleared if i turned it on on that area.

This would be a little thing that for me would be huge.

It could be used in other areas too, like off road settings.

See you!

Be thankful that you can turn it off; some annyoing features aren't so cooperative!

Send BMW a suggestion; maybe they'll forward it onto Bosch or whomever.

Cheers,

It would also be nice if my ignition key remembered that everytime I drive the car I turn the wipers to auto

Or why there's only a winscreen demist/blast quick press button on better models than I own - every e39 had one (AFAIK!)

Or, back to the PDC, why the front sensors don't realise that your close to something, and automatically turn the system to audio/visual?

1. I thought even the basic air-con had a quick demist.

2. Becuase if that happened it would be on at every junction, traffic lights and traffic jam.

1. Not mine

2. I never pull up that close - IAM training always taught me that you should be able to see at least a foot of road, to the rear of the wheels of the vehicle in front - enables you to drive around the vehicle if it becomes an obstacle, and you'd be amazed how many times it's paid off

Yep - I have the fast blast windscreen demist !

I'd love an internal temperature readout so that I know when the car has reached internal temperature like most climate control systems have....

Yes. I've taken a photo of my climate control panel, but not sure how to upload it?

I've checked in the e60 UK brochure, and the image showing climate is the same as mine. It would appear to be necessary to have advanced climate (standard on 535i up) to get the demist button
