Just a quick one, rear licence plates, screw them on or use double sided tape. Not sure what to do

I would screw them in and then put a little strip of double sided tape on the bottom so it doesnt make that cheap ringing sound when you close the trunk.

+2 yeah. that is actually the best idea yet. when i was 16 years old my entire car was held together with tape, however he has managed to use it very appropriately on a fine automobile. nice one krozi

Screw all 4(2 on top and 2 bottom. That will prevent the plate and frame from rattling

+2 - I don't know how we survived before zip ties and double-sided tape! I keep some of each, along with duct tape and "future glue" in my trunk tool kit. I can't tell you how many times that combination saved me from needing a tow job.

BTW, "future glue" is a super glue specially formulated for automotive plastics (like the crap they use to make radiators and overflow tanks!)

I'm going to have to go against the grain and say double sided tape. I always stick mine on, front and back as I don't like the look of the screws.

Never had any problems on this car or any other, even on the front which has a bit of a curve to it.

Just make sure you use the proper tape

Unbeleivable, how one cannot decide this simple question. I hope this thread grows BIG.

... The good people of Australia wouldn't think of stealing someone's license plate? Here in the USA, the theft of plates is not unheard of and the use of double-sided tape sure would make that theft easy. Not only are one's plates in jeopardy, in our state, we've had a rash of renewal sticker thefts. For the unscrupulous, coping a renewal tag and placing it on an already stolen plate, is a great way to save a bunch of money along with gaining a number of other illegal benefits. That being said, I would vote for using screws--preferably those with a unique head pattern such as hi-torque, hex, etc. or, if the plate need not be removed, a one-way head. Super glue would quell tag theft.
