I'm not sure of the circumstances in which this happens, but has anyone else noticed that the green LED on the electirc rear window lock switch, on the drivers door console, stays illuminated after the car has been turned off and locked. I have returned to the car 20minutes later to check, and the light is still on.

It doesn't happen everytime, it seems to be random.

Does anybody know why this happens?

Yup; I just release the button.

You know, I have seen it illuminated more than once and knew I didn't push it. I never really paid much attention to it so I can't say if it happens every time I start the car.

Thanks for your reply. I have also tried this, and yes, it works. press it, and it turns off.

But what im trying to get at, is - why - the light stays on after the car is powered off, doors locked and alarm set. It's the only LED that is on in the whole car, and appears to be quite a random one at that!

It just seems a bit strange....

Strange!

On my older BMW's there was a radio led and/or P-shift led that
was lightened all the time.

I have to see if this feature is in my car also, but I usually never use that
buttom.

The only light that I have seen active after parking is the blinking
alarm light under the rearview mirrow.

Stays lit until the car goes into sleep mode. So does the little orange gear select light next to the steptronic transmission shifter in my car.
