Unless the chick is stuck to the plastic -- in that case, you could then say it is, in fact, a chick magnet...

Plus, from what I hear... Leatherette is virtually indestructable or very durable.

Also, some people are allergic to the dye in the various leathers. Or if people have pets that are going to be parading around on the seats, might be better to have leatherette...?
But nowhere near as nice looking as keather, plus doesnt feel nice at all...

cheers

You?re right. My wife owns a Land Rover Freelander Sport (powered by BMW engine!) equipped with the equivalent of leatherette and I believe that, for such a car, that is a great choice. The seats look very attractive, still they are virtually indistructible. And with every time a couple of young, highly skilled, professional destroyers on board like my sons are, I can well say it.

Leatherette is durable but still not like. Plus after a while it develops odd looking shine patterns. Leather is the way to go!

I really like the leatherette in the BMW. I think it looks very nice & stays nicer longer. The leather tends to crack over time. The other nice thing is that you can clean it with just about anything and it will stay looking great. The only downside is that it doesn't feel as nice, but I don't know about you guys, but I always have clothes on when I'm sitting in the car, so my skin isn't touching the leather/leatherette anyway.
