Also, some people are allergic to the dye in the various leathers. Or if people have pets that are going to be parading around on the seats, might be better to have leatherette...?
But nowhere near as nice looking as keather, plus doesnt feel nice at all...

I really like the leatherette in the BMW. I think it looks very nice & stays nicer longer. The leather tends to crack over time. The other nice thing is that you can clean it with just about anything and it will stay looking great. The only downside is that it doesn't feel as nice, but I don't know about you guys, but I always have clothes on when I'm sitting in the car, so my skin isn't touching the leather/leatherette anyway.
