Is it just me or do most of the photos on the net showing black or grey leather interiors look terrible in the new 5 series? The pics of the leather looks almost like the leather is 'dirty' or old.

My 4 year old E39 with black leather interior looks better now, than those current pics.

The only colour that looks fantastic in the E60 is the beige. Anyone agree ?

I'm sure it will look better in real life anyway.

Relax, It?s just the pictures.
The leather in the E60 is the same as in the X5. It?s called Dakota and in my opinion the quality and feel of this leather is sligthly better than the Montana leather in the E39. However the difference is very subtle. Here in Europe we also have the possibility of choosing a softer Nappa leather called Exclusive and the perforated Nasca leather from the 7-series.

As an owner of an E60 with Dakota leather I can say that the quality of the leather is excellent - better than in E39 or E 46 [and that auburn as a colour is far better in real life than any of the pictures you have seen (even local BMW managers said that they were positively surprised)].

The only leather I liked more than in the E60 was in the Bentley Azure. Actually, I like the Nazca so much, I think its my new favourite ever!
