I agree, although only ?5k more to buy, it would have cost another ?1k per annum in fuel based on 12,000 miles a year. I really dont think the performance would have been different enough. I was also concerned about the problems with V8 engines generally versus the straight six of the diesel.

I notice you have the service and maintenance option. Do you think it is worth it based on 12,000 miles a year. I was considering it but the dealer said i may not get to service it annually and therefore not get my money's worth. However I drive into Lond0n every day (about 35 miles round trip) and therefore lots of stop start. I'm sure the oil will need to be changed at least annually.
